The welfare reform bill was passed at a federal level. Sure, the states
have differing implementations. However, the welfare rolls have been cut
in half, so it seems that it has been effective overall.

What percentage of "welfare slobs" vote ?

These are not exclusively for "welfare slobs".

They are examples of benefits that are available for everyone. For example,
"universal health care" means that everyone has access to health care. It
is not exclusively for "welfare slobs".

If the republicans had their way, the state would've locked him up and
thrown away the key.

Although this message was cross-posted to lots of groups, you will
find that they are all either Linux or XML groups. Both XML and Linux
are leaning towards simplification of software management with such
creations as the new SCO-Linux alliance and the XUL / CSS interface
definition of the GUI in Netscape 6.
To make such a broad statement, so far out of the appropriate context,
does not further discussion.

Hey, Windows'95 works just fine and fast, you just have to care about it
a little.
For instance, I fixed 2 computers at my previous school from a very deep

Never underestimate the ability of humans to screw things up

My biggest problem w/ friends who bring me their fucked up computers is
after I restore windoze to plead with them not to install every piece of
crap software like IE that comes their way.
W95 lets any program corrupt any file at any time. The 386 architecture had
been out for nearly ten years and MS should be ashamed for not using it.

Of course not...it's only "the other guys" who are on welfare.
The problem is, the "middle class" foolishly bought into the
welfare state, and now their grandchildren are being forced to
finance this Alice-in-Wonderland system.
> communicate clearly, you'll have to change the way you word things.
Social Security IS welfare. IT was DESIGNED as a welfare program.
People had better start understanding that, because that'st the
underlying problem with the whole SS system. Until people are
willing to confront the fact that there is nothing in the structure
that even resembles a true retirement system, then there will be
no solving the mess.

"broken window" theory says otherwise.
If you vigorously prosecute small-time offenders, people
tend not to slide into larger and larger crimes.

OK Aaron. Let's look at the flip side of the coin. Let's imagine you've
been granted your wish. SSI, Medicare, AFDC, and income tax are all
abolished. Is Minimum wage and Public Education dismissed too?
Now what?
Specifically target you answer towards the two constituencies that are
often unable to fend for themselves: children and the elderly. What happens
to them now?
It's clear you have significant issues with the current system. Please
describe the system you'd like to see.

Try using a NON-windows Operating System, and get back to us.
Unix was more stable in 1975 than Windows can manage today.

Loren Petrich is a COMMUNIST ***hole
A: The wise man is mocked by fools.
B: "Jeem" Dutton is a fool of the pathological liar sort.
C: Jet plays the fool and spews out nonsense as a method of
sidetracking discussions which are headed in a direction
that she doesn't like.
D: Jet claims to have killfiled me.
E: Jet now follows me from newgroup to newsgroup
...despite (D) above.
F: Neither Jeem nor Jet are worthy of the time to compose a
response until their behavior improves.
G: Unit_4's "Kook hunt" reminds me of "Jimmy Baker's" harangues against
adultery while concurrently committing adultery with Tammy Hahn.
H: Knackos...you're a retard.
