Those are hardly good examples of british humour. Like anyone else
we have bad as well as good comedy. Having been out of the UK for
about 15 years I can't say what great comedy programs they have
now (I do get BBC Prime but the comedy on that is either on a par
with "Are you being served?" or repeats of Black Adder). Great
British humour was the likes of Monty Python, Not the Nine O'Clock
News, Spitting Image, etc. I presume, hope, that they still produce
comedy of this uniquely british kind.

Microsoft have denied reports that they tried to host the exceedingly
high load (sometimes as much as 1 hit per second) www.theregister.co.uk
to W2K but failed. They said that it will be hosted on Windows XP, special
UK server edition (with pound sign capability) SP 9.6z, sometime this
decade.

Not from what I have been reading in the
microsoft.public.whistler.personal.general and the number of people bitching
about how slow it is, the compulsory registration, the cost of it and numerous
other problems. Personally, I didn't buy into the dot-con hype, as for your
cheap remark regarding VA Linux is nothing more than flame bait. If it an't
turing a profit, don't invest into it, that's my philosophy, I stick with
Telecom New Zealand, On Energy, and Capital Properties, all very successful
businesses with great dividends. As for the average consumer, right now,
Linux, more correctly, the distros, are almost there, now it will be a just a
matter of branding, and more applications being ported to Linux. Now, I have a
positive feeling that Redhat Linux 7.1 and Mandrake 8 will herald in new users
as it becomes easier to install. Now, the only issues that are left, are so
minor, they pail in comparison to the problems Windows have. Redhat,
SuSE Linux and Mandrake need to push themselves into the mainstream, advertise
in mainstream media, use the problems with Windows as a marketing tool to
persuade users to move to Linux, create hype, sponsor LUG's and generic
computer groups with free cds and book evenings. Only that sort of mass
marketing will ever inform the average Joe/Jane that it is there. As for
whether he/she wants to move, is up to them. Even if they don't move, you now
have the message in the front of their minds. Now they know it is there, and
they know what it is, it will be then just a matter of time before people start
moving.

Already does, he owns what used to be called NC, (Network Computer), which has
been renamed to something else (haven't really kept track of the company in
ages). It uses an embedded version of Linux, using a Cyrix processor, has all the
necessary plugins and everything, and it aimed at the Internet Appliance market
and those who what to use software subscription based services (and some are
actually free of charge).

And pray tell,

How long will they keep 95% marketshare when they start harassing their
corporate customers? It's the corporate desktop where Linux can make the
fastest inroads, thanks to firms as Red Hat and IBM.
No, this Microsoft strategy of keeping up revenues in a slinking market
by using bogus licensing audits is going to backfire if they keep it up.
Next time read the article please,

The basis for Fascism is Plato's Republic and very rational. Likewise
Communism is very Rational. Anarchism and National Socialism are
irrational in that they are based on emotion rather than reason.

Wrong, truth is not *owned*. It is not subjective.
Something is either true, or it is not. Facts are UNIVERSAL.
Hope that helps.

You have advocated many marxist policies, and so far, failed to tell us
even on marxist policy position with which you disagree.

Therefore, the evidence shows that you are, in fact, a marxist.

If you wish to change that perception, then please give us some
evidence to go on...tell us what marxist policies you disagree with.

Your endorsement of marxist policies.
Hop that helps.

Oh, but you do. You see, when someone writes in opposition of some
marxist policy...and you defend the marxist policy...then it is
quite clear to the reader EXACTLY what your views are.

Hope that helps.

Yes, even a stopped clock like you is correct on occasion.
However, that doesn't make it a reliable indicator of the time.

First, demonstrate that I'm wrong. Tell us about all of the marxist
policies which you disagree with. Until then, questions about what
I do when I'm wrong are rather moot, dontcha think...

Let me tell you, those words mean a literal world of difference to
Eastern Europeans, including Russians.

Aaron R. Kulkis
Unix Systems Engineer
DNRC Minister of all I survey
ICQ # 3056642

K: Truth in advertising:
Left Wing Extremists Charles Schumer and Donna Shelala,
        Black Seperatist Anti-Semite Louis Farrakan,
        Special Interest Sierra Club,
        Anarchist Members of the ACLU
Left Wing Corporate Extremist Ted Turner
The Drunken Woman Killer Ted Kennedy
        Grass Roots Pro-Gun movement,

J: Other knee_jerk reactionaries: billh, david casey, redc1c4,
The retarded sisters: Raunchy (rauni) and Anencephielle (Enielle),
also known as old hags who've hit the wall....

I: Loren Petrich's 2-week stubborn refusal to respond to the
challenge to describe even one philosophical difference
between himself and the communists demonstrates that, in fact,
Loren Petrich is a COMMUNIST ***hole

H: "Having found not one single carbon monoxide leak on the entire
premises, it is my belief, and Willard concurs, that the reason
you folks feel listless and disoriented is simply because
    you are lazy, stupid people"

G: Knackos...you're a retard.

F: Unit_4's "Kook hunt" reminds me of "Jimmy Baker's" harangues against
adultery while concurrently committing adultery with Tammy Hahn.

E: Jet is not worthy of the time to compose a response until
   her behavior improves.

D: Jet Silverman now follows me from newgroup to newsgroup
   ...despite (C) above.

C: Jet Silverman claims to have killfiled me.

B: Jet Silverman plays the fool and spews out nonsense as a
method of sidetracking discussions which are headed in a
   direction that she doesn't like.

A: The wise man is mocked by fools.
