Hi there,

i also have an PC164 Borad at home and am having the same problems over
three years.
At the moment (with kernel 2.2.14) i cannot access my SCSI-tape. I also
have problems with my ISDN-card. The kernel locks completely over some
indeterminsitic time.
I tried to put some debug lines in the kernel but failed to get some
info about the cause of the hangups.

A kernel which works for me for some time is 2.2.12pre12.
May be it is an fired interrupt which is not caught directly by the
kernel.

I also thougth that the powersupply would get some peaks from the
powerline. So i put an USV in front of the box but nothing changed.
Next i will try to remove some devices (harddisks and CDROM) from the
box and put them in an external case. If that wont't work i will change
the powersupply.

But one point makes me think. I have installed NT on the same machine
and it works hours without any problems. So i think i might be a kernel
problem.

I have written sometimes to the linux newsgroups but there was no direct
solution for our problem. I thought i was the only one but that
obvoiusly was not true.

Greets,
  Juergen
