We patched the 2.2.14 kernel with
ftp.*kernel.org:/...../people/andrea/patches/v2.2/2.2.14/alpha_initrd_fixes.gz
Also aboot by
ftp.suse.com/pub/people/ro/aboot/aboot.initrd.patch
ftp.suse.com/pub/people/ro/aboot/aboot-0.5.dif
But still initrd is not working.
Below is the message displayed during bootup

.
aboot: now loading initrd filesystem image
unzip: unknown compression method
aboot: ok, now starting the kernel
.
.
and system normally boot's up without the initrd support.
What should I do to make initrd working ?
