=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Strace 4.0 has been released!
Since the last major release (version 3.1) a lot of things have
changed. This release should work on most Linux architectures
(it was tested on i386, alpha, sparc, m68k and powerpc), SunOS,
Solaris and (some versions of) IRIX. Of course we've also added
a lot of new system calls and fixed a nice number of bugs.
A couple of popular features are not supported yet (most noticably
proper clone() support for Linux). Now that strace 4.0 has been
released we can work on adding new features.
Please read the global README and the README for your OS when you
compile strace!
For Linux there are now also a couple of kernel patches available at
the strace homepage that make strace usage a bit more pleasant.
If you have questions, remarks or patches you can send those to the
strace mailinglist. You can subscribe by sending an email with the subject
"subscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can post to the list by
sending mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
You can get strace at two locations:
* homepage at http://www.wi.leidenuniv.nl/~wichert/strace/
* CVS archive at :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvs/strace,
password is empty
Wichert.

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
I have put on-line a document about sendmail configuration for
offline use. It could be useful to anyone who wants to compose
e-mail when offline, queueing the messages for later delivery
to the ISP's SMTP server.
It can be found at the following address:

Comments, criticism and hints are welcome.
Best regards,

doesn't need the PERL installation and the PERL modules installation (Tk
and PDFlib).
WinPDFdata supports the new PDF version 1.3.
- From version 1.1, the executable doesn't need perlcrt.dll

eccview 2.0
by Mok and Iceman of The Black Squadron
Released 12-Jul-1999
1. What's this?
---------------
The purpose of this utility is to display those kinky .ECC
"animations" which could be in the past found on usenet
newsgroups like alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.anime and similar.
Unfortunately, the .ECC format is a bit antique and due to the
regulations of The Black Squadron, I'm not allowed to distribute
the source code nor the format description.
2. Requirements
---------------
- Linux 2.x.x
- XFree86
- GTK+ v1.2.x
This binary was created and tested to be working on Redhat6.0 system.
Machine CPU was AMDk6/200, but no specific optimizations were used
during the compilation.

After receiving a lot of positive reactions on the initial Freshmeat
announcement[1], I've decided to actually try to setup a project that will
build freeware for schools. The project has a name (Open Source Educational
Software, not my idea[2]) and a domain (www.oses.org), and is currently
looking for someone to host the collaborative environment this project needs
(hint, hint).
The goals of the project are a bit different from similar projects like
suel-edu[3] in that platform-independence is stressed (although I think that
development etcetera will largely be done under Linux).
If you are interested in the project, visit the website at
http://www.oses.org/ and subscribe to the mailing list pointed from there.

What?
- -----
WWW-Watch is a little perl-script like urlmon, which monitors some web
locations using lynx or the w3c-linemodebrowser. It reports the
status (changed, unchanged, removed, newly added) to stdout, so it
can be invoked regularly with cron monitor a bunch of pages for you.
Where?
- ------
You can fetch it from
http://studserver.uni-dortmund.de/~su0419/Software/WWW-Watch-0.3.tar.gz
A short description is on
http://studserver.uni-dortmund.de/~su0419/Software/software.html
What do you need ?
- ------------------
You should have at least one of the following browsers :
Lynx, W3C linemodebrowser
Additionally you need a program which calculates a md5-sum or
something similiar from its input and reports a single number, this
number is taken to detect changes. I use `md5sum' which is included
in pgp 2.6.x, but any other should do either.
Legal ?

Subject: khexedit 0.8.1 - Versatile hex editor for KDE/Qt.
Date: Thu, 15 Jul 1999 22:20:45 GMT
Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
Current release: 0.8.1 (1999-07-13)
Source code (Licence: GPL) and some screenshots available on
http://home.sol.no/~espensa/khexedit/
Khexedit is a versatile and customizable hex editor. It displays
data in hexadecimal, octal, binary and text mode. New input can be
inserted into the file or it can replace current data just like
in a common text editor. Undo/Redo functionality is included as
well as formatted printing. Khexedit is designed to integrate
into the KDE environment but can be used as a stand alone
program as long as the KDE and Qt libraries are installed on
your computer.
Changes in 0.8.1
- -------------------------------------------------
* Bugfix: Commandline file arguments was read but not used.
* Bugfix: Incorrect redrawing of cursor if horizontal scrollbar was
visible and the scrollbar was moved to the right.
* The "Conversion Field" can now be displayed in its own window
outside the editor window (floating display)
* The "Binary" entry in "Conversion Field" can now display a window
of bit values (window size 1-16 bits). Eg, if the cursor is located
on bit 2 and the window size is 8, 3 bits (LSB) of the first
byte is displayed and 5 bits (MSB) of the next. Hence the bit
view is not constrained to the byte boundary.
* Binary Filter: (new methods)
1) Bit swapping (eg, swap bit 0 and 5)
2) Bit reversal (eg, 00000011 transforms to 11000000)
3) Bit rotation (eg, 00001011 can be rotated to 01100001)
4) Bit shift (eg, 00001011 can be shifted to 00000001)
* Command line option: "-offset <value>", moves the cursor in the
displayed document on startup. <value> can be hexadecimal or decimal.
* Extended documentation.
Features ( a few of them)
-------------------------------------------------
Highly configurable document view.

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
WMRecord 1.0.0
WMRecord is a general purpose audio recording utility for Linux
systems running X11, currently using the Open Sound System (OSS) to
access the audio subsystem. The interface is designed to work in
conjunction with WindowMaker's Dock or AfterStep's Wharf, two popular
window managers for the X Window System. An alternative interface
incorporating a more general purpose GUI toolkit is planned but not
imminent.
WMRecord was originally conceived as a tool for recording memos,
interviews and meetings, and this approach is reflected somewhat in
the interface.
Features:
Choice of recording source: Microphone | Line Input | CD
Choice of sample rates: 8000 | 11025 | 22050 | 44100
Record in Mono or Stereo
Select 8- or 16-bit quality
No Configuration Files to Hack
