It's not at all difficult to do.

If you are using an NT box as a server, then beware that you are very
likely to need a pppd daemon that has been compiled to use MS-CHAP.
RedHat's i386.rpm package is compiled with it.

PPP-HOWTO (which should come as standard with all distributions, so it is
