Yes :
You can use Mctools-lite (It's a suite containing a Mixer (XMixer) & a CD-player)
This Mixer is for X, it's look is great and it isn't difficult. I think it's as
performant as the Creative Mixer, but it hasn't got the display screen. (Not a
real inconveniant for me !)
It exist xmixer too : The same commands but the look is... Beurk !
Aumix, which is command line interface oriented. It has, i think, more functions.
Tkmixer has the same function than Mctools-lite Mixer and is tcl-tk interface
oriented.
wmmixer is a good but not quick (multi-click to choose the sound for this or this
device...)
It's originaly for WindowMaker but works under the other WinManagers.
That are the all I know, but many other exist
