Ah, yes I'm aware of this.  I also have mswordview installed here too,
along with catdoc.

But they are all a poorman's solution to the problem of using linux in an
organisation that is fully geared up to using office97 (the number of
msword doc attachments that are sent via email around here is amazing).

I might just wait until StarOffice 5.0 is released and have a good look at
it.  (Hopefully they will have a glibc version of it available).

I could get at least a dozen more people here using linux almost
exclusively if I could provide them with (network-capable) linux utilities
that could handle m$office97 files with no problems.  (It would certainly
make my own life here at work a lot more streamlines too :)
