may be I am somewhat old-fashioned, but anyway, I like to use Joe (version 2.8)
either with X11 or on the console. I would like to have Joe go one word to
the right when hitting Strg-Right and one word to the left when hitting
Strg-Left. I was able to make that work with the Console by assigning the
apropriate return key-values to the Right or Left key, when Strg is pressed.
However, I cannot find out how to do this under X11. I used to work with SCO
ODT where you had termcap sequences WL and WR for word left and word right,
respectively. But this does not exist on the gnu-version of termcap. xmodmap as
well didn't work the way I would have appreciated it to. Is there anybody in
the wide world of the gnus who knows who knows who knows? Maybe this is not too
important for the world, but I would really like to understand what is going

if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font
with constant spacing like courier! :-)
