NTP (Network Time Protocol) is exactly what you're looking for. On my Linux
boxes I use David Mills' NTP software (http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~mills/ntp/).
On my Microsoft boxes I use TARDIS (http://www.kaska.demon.co.uk/).
