Hi

I also use cdrecord and mkisofs but on a HP8100i and it works just fine.

The only slight drawback is that you require a lot of disk space when creating
CD's. eg. If I'm writing 100MB to the CD, I need 100MB disk space for the image
using mkisofs. With the windows software that comes with the HP8100i, I need
considerably less space and don't have to create the image before witing it to
the CD. Everything gets done in one step. (however you lose a lot of the
flexibility offerred by cdrecord and mkisofs when using the windows software)
