well if timed seemed complicated, you might have difficulty with ntpd (network
time protocol), or xntpd.
secondly, the rdate command, you just have to know the address of an
authoritive server. Unfortunately I don't know any addresses off hand except
the naval observatory, and they'd prefer you not go there. If anyone has any
rdate server addresses, feel free to post them.
