Permission denied, I bet. Did you tail the logs on your NFS server to
see what it was trying to tell you?
tail -f /var/log/messages &
Very magical, that command. Add /var/log/maillog and
/var/log/secure and whatever, and you have a nice way to
continuously monitor your log files...
tail -f /var/log/{messages,secure,maillog} &
I bet the mountd daemon complained about the mount request.

In order for nfs to work from a server for any client:
1 - there must be an entry for the IP address of that client (or it's
network) in the server's NFS export list (/etc/exports).
2 - the IP used by the client MUST (I repeat, MUST) be able to resolved
to a hostname for NFS (specifically, mountd) to work.
3 - the /etc/hosts.{allow,deny} files on the server MUST allow portmap
connections for the host or network address for the client.
NOTE:
1. host *names* in hosts.{allow, deny} as entries for the
portmapper WILL NOT WORK - these will not be reversed
looked-up... IP addresses MUST be used for RPC
services such as NFS or NIS(ie, for the portmapper).
2. to tcp_wrap RPC services only requires an entry for
the portmapper.
My suspicion is that your NFS server can't resolve the IP address to a
real hostname via DNS (or /etc/hosts).
Hint: be careful exporting /mnt/cdrom (or any removable-media block
device) - if you are not careful you could get your system into some
strange locked states (eg, the cdrom will always be busy and unable to
be umounted). Been there, done that. (I hate rebooting linux boxes,
but I had one box up for almost a year which finally had to be
rebooted to "free" the cdrom device before it could be opened... a
dead and immovable NFS filehandle was still present with a reboot the
last resort to fix it).
Finally... be aware that there are some bugs in the bootnet installer
that _may_ hit you. And the installer update doesn't fix all of them.
However, it's not likely to affect you unless you are very unlucky. :)
Cheers
Tony
