$ giftopnm --help
usage: giftopnm [-verbose] [-comments] [-image N] [GIFfile]
$ man giftopnm
giftopnm(1) giftopnm(1)
NAME
giftopnm - convert a GIF file into a portable anymap
SYNOPSIS
giftopnm [-verbose] [-comments] [-image N] [GIFfile]
DESCRIPTION
Reads a GIF file for input, and outputs portable anymap.
[...]
$ rpm -qf $(which giftopnm)
libgr-progs-2.0.13-20
It comes with most distributions. There are also other utilities with
other packages that come for manipulating jpg's and so on.
Also have a search at http://freshmeat.net, there's a utility around
that will convert all the gif's on an entire web site into pnm's.
Cheers
