The lpd is running, but the printtool still cannot Auto-detect /dev/lp0, /dev/lp1 and /dev/lp2, and I got the same error message when testing print. I deleted and install the printer again and again. I check the HOW-TO and put the 'alias lp* lp' in /etc/conf.modules. It didn't help. I have lpr-0.48-1.i386.rpm installed. The printer and cable are good, for I tested them under other OS. Is there other ways to fix this problem? I need more help please :- ( Thank you. feng Richard Andrews wrote: > That's a weird one. > Maybe you have the lpd daemon disabled.
