Hello all,

I'm working on a Cirris-Logic EDB7211 evaluation board. I have a running
2.2.1 kernel (received from Cirrus-Logic) that seems to work well. Now I am
in the process of creating a root file system.

I found the 'Linux From Scratch HOWTO', written by Gerard Beekmans. This is
a clear and usefull doc,
however most of the packages described in the HOWTO are not ready for
cross-development (e.g. some files I have to compile manually). So it's a
lot of work, and right now I'm running into problems with the 'login'
program (login doesn't seem to be able to read the /etc/passwd file, i.e.
the library call getpwnam seems to fail). Is this a known problem?

Is there other documentation and/or are there other ways to get a root
filesystem for the EDB7211?

Thanks,
Olaf.
