Video Cards

Hi all   This is a little of topic, but I would appreciate some advice. I am intending to implement a video driver for a pure-java OS (www.websprocket.com) running on an ESA-285. What I'm looking for is advice on which video card to use.   I notice that there is some mention of an S3 card in the diary, but what scares me is the mention that an x86 emulator had been compiled into the image to get it working. What was wrong with manual initialization?   Any advice would be much appreciated.   Regards Roland
