-rmk1 already has a lot of the IrDA fixes in there (I authored some
of them).

The version I was using didn't need gtk+ iirc.  Not sure what version
it was tho, sorry.

Currently, there is no support for this.  The SIR support is part
of the sa1100_fir driver though, but, since FIR requires DMA, and
there isn't a SA1100 DMA API in my kernel, that work has been put
on hold.
