Hello,

First may I thank the people who put the arm-linux distribution
together; in 0-to-6 hours last Saturday I downloaded the pieces
for EBSA285-SA110 and set up my SUN as a BOOTP/TFTP/NFS
server and loaded a set of RPMS to it fairly easily.

Last Sunday I spent a further 4 hours trying to build the bios,
using the gcc cross-compiling environment shipped with
vxWorks-for-ARM (gcc --version = 2.7.9-970819). This
version of gcc generates coff-arm-little objects and, alas, the
mkaif that built recognises ELF or AOUT formats only. While
one option would be for me to download the aout-arm-gcc
cross-compiler for the SUN, getting arm-linux to build using
WindRiver tools may be of interest to some people? (I intend to
type up a note of what steps were taken and problems found.)

So my question is has anyone patched the mkaif sources to
parse a coff-arm-little format bios.a.out image or would it be
useful if I attempt this sometime? Thanks for any advice.

cheers
julian
