We started talking to Psion about this over a year ago. They were initially
encouraging, but ultimately would only reveal information under a strict NDA
which wouldn't even let me mention the existince of the information, never
mind do any usefully open-source with it. We spent some time trying to get
them to understand that this was of no practical use for developing a port
and they said they'd 'see what they could do', but nothing happened for
months and months and eventually they didn't answer our mails any more.

So, basically we've given up on that. I might (or might not - I couldn't
possibly say :-) have a load of relevant info, but there is lots more that is
needed and not likely to become available until there is a change in
attitude.

That's because they haven't got any choice - that was the last machine Psion
spilled the beans on. (The 5mx and revo have the same probs as the
series7/netbook). The project has actually now moved to sourceforge and it's
not dead, but there's not a huge amount happening either.

It's a pity Psion didn't see the light the way compaq have - just look how
many Ipaq's have been linuxed. Psion could have have a year's head start if
they wanted. <sigh>

What it needs is someone with some clout (from Psion's POV) to bang important
heads together. As they have still have the best keyboarded ARM devices its
not yet too late...
