Hi, I have an Assabet/Neponset phase 5 running the linux version 2.4.1-rmk1-np2. I have a strange problem with the Ethernet PC Card on PCMCIA and with the sound drivers (UDA1341) on Neponset when I boot the kernel from the bootldr. When I boot my kernel with the bootldr (using a ext2 fs "ramdisk"), the cardmgr is not able to recognize my Ethernet PC Card on PCMCIA (on Neponset). If the card is inserted before the cardmgr started, the system will freeze. If the card is inserted after the cardmgr is started the system generates the following message: "cs: socket c1847000 timed out during reset. Try increasing setup delay". However, I am able to use the Ethernet port on the Neponset card. Also, if I am not able to use the sound driver for codec 1341 (on Neponset) via the /dev/dsp or /dev/audio. Each time we tried to make access to the device the system freeze (no sound). If I use the same kernel (except that the CONFIG_ANGELBOOT is set to Yes) and the same ramdisk when I use the angelboot utility, I have no problem at all. I can use the sound driver UDA1341 on Neponset and the Ethernet PC Card on PCMCIA with success. I tried to figure out what is the difference between the bootldr and the angelboot and I have no clue about the problem. I used the version of the bootldr of November 26th, 2000. I tried this version with and without the bootldr-jd2.patch with the same results. Can someone help me on this problem? I am concerned especially for the sound drivers since I can use the Ethernet port on Neponset. Is there someone which have tried my configuration without problems (specially using UDA1341 on Neponset using the bootldr not the angelboot) P.S. Also when I boot the kernel with angelboot, each time it has an activity on the Ethernet port on Neponset, my screen on Assabet blink. It seems that I have to replace a pull up resistor to eliminate this problem.
