Hi,
I just upgraded my assabet kernel to 2.4.2-rmk1-np1, and for some
reason, the compact flash memory cards I've been using (kingston compact
flash) don't seem to work anymore. These cards were recognized under
2.4.0-test10-rmk2-np3, and cardmgr would install the ide driver (that was
built into the kernel) whenever I inserted a new card. So, I took the same
ramdisk, created a 2.4.2-rmk1-np1 directory in /lib/modules, and built a new
kernel. With the new kernel, the ide driver never gets loaded. If I do a
cardctl status or cardctl ident, I can detect the card, and read some of its
properties, but I can't mount the device. (By the way, under 2.4.2, the CF
ethernet card does appear to work fine, so I think I've got PCMCIA
configured properly). I stepped back to 2.4.1-rmk1-np2, and the card worked
again. I'm pretty sure the configure options were the same through these
different kernels. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Does anyone have
any suggestions? I'm attaching my .config.
Also, under 2.4.0-test10, intermittently, the kernel would crash
with an invalid paging request when I inserted the cf card. Is there a
reason for this? I was using BLOB as a bootloader, and it set the assabet to
run at 220mhz.

Thanks,
Ram
