You're saying "arm-linux 2.2". This is a meaningless version. Can you
give a specific version?

Can you define "configured it" please? If you have only configured it
then there is nothing preventing you from upgrading.
In fact, upgrading fixes some very serious easily exploitable security
holes, as well as many bugs which can cause the system to hang.
