Hi!

Another comercial alternative to a JVM is j9 found at http://www.ibm.com/embedded,
it's available for download, but if you want to use for "real" it cost a lot of $$$.

We are are using j9 and it has a really good performance and footprint.

Hi Giri,
I just found out that we should be using Sun's CVM. This virtual machine is a
subset for mobile devices of a full JVM.

I believe the alternatives are Kaffee under the PocketLinux distribution or CVM under
the Familiar distribution. (There may be another option under the Handhelds
distribution but I don't know about it.) We are leaning toward CVM, but we have not
tested
either yet.

Paolo

Hello Paolo,

I just noticed your post on running Java applications on iPaq/Linux. Which
Java VM are you using for your applications for the iPaq?

I am trying to use the Kaffe distribution, but that doesn't behave well with
multithreaded applications.

Thanks in advance,
Giri
