We looked at the SL11H for a product; my advice is to avoid it if at all
possible. The chip has insufficient FIFO and general speed (only an 8 bit
bus), plus needs very low latency IRQ servicing for things like good SOF
generation.
You *can* support it, for example by simulating OHCI hardware (your driver
traverses the ED/TD trees manually) but it's quite a bit of work and you'll
never get the speed required to support general USB devices out of it, IMHO.
There are other USB host controllers with more FIFO and wider busses out
there, which work fine with the StrongARM and aren't the SA1111. Only the
SA1111 has the luxury of DMA though, as far as I'm aware.
