Hmm, not good.

Nothing has changed for a long time in the checksum department - I can say
that it definitely works from 2.4.4 through to the latest - my firewall
relies on BOOTP and NFS over UDP to run.

Maybe it's your toolchain?  Can you supply details?

Can you also supply a tcpdump file (tcpdump -w file) so I can see the type
of corruption please?
