There is only one PS/2 port on the neponset. If the adapter is the same as the one that can be used in IBM thinkpads (I believe it is), then the PS/2 socket on the neponset will directly accept a PS/2 mouse, but not a PS/2 keyboard (since the keyboard signals are connected to the "wrong" pins). The Y adapater is basically a cable with a PS/2 plug one end, and a big socket housing with two sockets on the other end marked 'M' and 'K'.
