Cyril,
just to comment:
[1] ARM has spent around a year negotiating with the FSF so that it
can donate code into the FSF's projects (GCC etc). This has now
been signed off. There's a lot of work underway with the V5 architecture
and we'll obviously move onto the V6 stuff.
[2] We already donate into the Linux kernel - mostly processor support but
I also maintain the Integrator stuff
[3] We would like this gateway to be available but there's a problem:
[3a] ARM have the header files (these have been GPL'd in line with
[1] above).
[3b] Red Hat/Cygnus have the rest of the gateway sources
I've tried my contacts in Red Hat to get this resolved ([1] above took
a hell of a long time but take note that quite a lot of rather large
silicon companies have failed to reach agreement, so I think that
ARM did well here).
I can volunteer someone in ARM to take the sources and headers and build
the gateway (and test it). I can e-mail the headers to someone in
Red Hat who can do this. Either way, I'd like this code/gateway
available to the ARM developer community.
