Hi all,

I want to compile a linux kernel for my CDB89712 board and I downloaded
kernel 2.4.17 and applied patch-2.4.17-rmk5 to it. When I do make xconfig I
cannot selecte the right processor type in the config menu, it is simply not
there. Now 2.4.17-rmk5 is a arm-specific path, right ? So I don't understand
this , do I need another patch as well ??

I also want to know some things about jffs, is it possible to make partitions
in flash memory when using jffs ?? and if so , how is this done. In the
future I need the possibility to remotely download new software updates to
the flash memory, this could also include a new kernel. I'm thinking of some
kind of bootloader that can access a jffs filesystem to extract and run a
kernel from or that can download new software to the filesystem. Any help is
welcome, also points to useful documentation on jffs.

Thanks

Lambert Duijst
