Thanks for the people who answered my questions about the 720T.
To summerize a few answers, not everybody replied to the list. Q: Code compatilibity A: "720T and Strongarm are both v4. Use the compiler from LART without optimasation. for the architecture" From other sources I have learned that at the core, everything is compatible. By default, that's what most people do. But if you use the StrongARM extension it only works on the strong arm. It is, in effect like the 386/486/586 situation. :-> Q: Example platforms for the 720T A: http://www.steremat-software.de/linux_geraet.htm I don't speak/read german, but it looks like a symbol bar code scanner. A: http://www.lart.tudelft.nl/ But I can't buy one of these off the shelf :-< but it looks interesting. A: Pison, and the Blue Mug Linux port http://www.bluemug.com/~miket/arm/arm.html I understand the Pison uses the "NEC 710T" I wonder what is different about that. Hmm More research is needed on my part. A: the cirrus maverick family (cs89712, ep7312, etc) are 720t based. (http://www.cirrus.com) Tool chain info is here: http://roland.seuhs.com/en/index.php/Development/LiMa/CDB89712 A: (from my orginal post) The LinkUp.sys This is the 'reference platform' that Lineo uses. Thank you for your answers they are quite helpful. _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com _______________________________________________ http://lists.arm.linux.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/linux-arm http://www.arm.linux.org.uk/armlinux/mailinglists.php Please visit the above addresses for information on this list.
