if you are copying the 2.2.3 .so's from the 2.95.3 toolchain - there is an
expectation that they are in the toolchain location.

you should be able to rebuild ld.so.cache (using ldconfig - man ldconfig for
more info).

Other options: (assume you want to put the so's in /lib)
1) Set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /lib in the enviroment (testing only)
2) rebuild glibc-2.2.3 after configuring libdir to /lib
3) create a symlink of the toolchain library path to /lib (messy not
advised!)

here is a good read on the subject...

http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Program-Library-HOWTO/shared-libraries.html

as to the .a's??? only relevant for static linking - dont need to be on your
final image.

Does anyone know where you can dload a runtime glibc with pthread support
for arm? I have tried using the .so* files from my cross-compile, and
busybox seems to compile just fine, but when I run it, I get errors
because it cannot load shared object file: no such file or directory. Do I
need the .a files as well? Is there something else I forgot to change?

Thanks!
Nic
