i have tried to compile gstreamer on arm (IPAQ) for a while. if anyone has tried some of the compiles listed below and encountered similar problems (and possibly fixed them) please contact me (or the list).
the following problems occured: at first i compiled all libraries and dependencies on a skiff cluster: SDL, glib2 (glib not glibc), libxml2 finally everything compiled, but the binaries of gstreamer only gave me a segfault, when executed on the IPAQ i tried crosscompiling the packages with the handhelds toolchain. i didnt get glib2 to compile correctly (configure script seems not to want any cross compiles) furthermore gstreamer itself always linked against some /usr/local/lib libs (even when setting all system variables, pkgconfig, etc. properly) all other packages seemed to compile properly, and could be tested to some extent. but gstreamer still leaves me with nothing more then segfaults for every binary so finally i want to try native compiles on the IPAQ, i only didnt find a libc-devel package (i have familiar 0.5.1 on my ipaq), and want to avoid compiling myself. if anyone experienced similar problems or has an idea, what is wrong, please help. ------------------------------------------------------------ Dipl.-Ing.
