I said to Russell that'd I'd have a go with xfree86 4.0 (but I've no prior
experience of this), and he said that I'd need the kernel framebuffer device
driver. ie on an Acorn RiscPC you can't talk to the hardware direct
(IIRC. Not sure if this piece of info is worth the electrons it's written on)
