No, my binary is linked statically. I have had a couple of people ask that.
I'll be more detailed in my next post. I also tried just a simple hello
world program to print to stdout and that did not work either. I have tried
having /dev/console be a real device MAJ=5 and MIN=1 and also as a symbolic
link to /dev/ttyS0. Neither works.
