Try Microwindows/NanoGUI:

I believe people have already tested it on Brutus so it should work out of
the box for you... Of course "standard" could mean different things. If
you are trying to port something which is written specifically to use
SVGALIB, you will have problems as SVGALIB is tied to SVGA hardware. If
you are writing something from scratch, NanoGUI could be ideal.
