On behalf of the entire Rivendell development team, I'm pleased to announce the availability of the next production release of Rivendell, 4.5.0. Rivendell is a full-featured radio automation system targeted for use in professional broadcast environments. It is available under the GNU General Public License version 2.
From the 'NEWS' file: *** snip snip *** Changes: SoundPanel Optimization. Optimized code to provide greatly improved startup time for Sound Panel instances with many panels. ALSA Device Support. Refactored the ALSA device subsystem to better support virtual audio drivers. Play-Out Timing Anomalies. Overhauled cart play-out code to eliminate problems with truncating the end of log events. Dropbox Enhancements. Added an 'Advanced Settings' button to the 'Dropbox Configuration' dialog in rdadmin(1) to permit tuning to support reliable dropbox operation in high-latency WAN environments. See the DROPBOX SCANNING ALGORITHM section in the rdimport(1) man page for details. Multiple Bugfixes. See the ChangeLog. Database Update: This version of Rivendell uses database schema version 377, and will automatically upgrade any earlier versions. To see the current schema version prior to upgrade, do 'sudo rddbmgr'. Be sure to run 'rddbmgr --modify' (as root) immediately after upgrading to allow any necessary changes to the database schema to be applied. *** snip snip *** Details and source code are available at https://github.com/ElvishArtisan/rivendell/releases.
