Thanks for the link! Some years ago i experimented with 64bit floats on my 
cyrix CPU based machine. The cyrix FPU is known to not have a good 
performance so i changed back to 32bit floats which resulted into 10-20% 
faster execution. I am not sure about the exact increase of performance 
anymore, its to long ago. Anyway it would be interesting to know how this 
looks on an up-to-date CPU. AFAIK the FPU uses internaly always 64bit...
