Someone at the pd-dev list perhaps knows. All I know is that I get very descent realtime performance in pd as a normal user (even when running locate, starting new programs, etc. at the same time). I cant get that sort of performance with jack. Have you tried k_jack now by the way? I'm not making jokes about its performance. --
