Hi,
I've been keeping my eyes open for a (linux) soundfont editor for a while,
but have not been able to find one. (Hmmm, OK, I should have asked here.)
So... I've written one for X using fltk and I'm looking for a few alpha
testers.
The program allows you to load, edit, create and save 'sf2' soundfonts.
There's still a few missing bits, such as deleting layers and so on, but I
think it's ready for testing. There's certainly mistakes and also some
parameters missing (set to have a range from zero to zero) so I wouldn't use
it in 'anger' yet.
You can get a copy from
http://www.floot.demon.co.uk/sfedit/sfedit.html
You'll need the latest fltk which you can get from
http://www.cinenet.net/users/spitzak/fl/index.html
(there's a link to it from the sfedit page). You'll also need the usual
libraries and header files for programming X. Oh, and at least 1024x768
screen res. I think I'll be able to squeeze it into 800x600 later, as long
as there isn't too much more to add.
I've (shamelessly) used Takashi Iwai's awesfx code for loading and saving
the actual sf2 files (thanks mate), but you don't need the awe libraries as
the relevant bits are included. Also you don't need an awe32/64 card (yet?).
BTW, does anyone know of any problems with calling it sfedit? I've done a
few searches, but nothing relevant came up.
Many thanks,
