There isn't a lot of traffic on this ML thoses last times but the list is
always active.

You have to compile your kernel and add the AWE driver support. Since version
2.0.33 (I think) of Linux kernel the AWE driver is included by default. So just
begin to configure your kernel with make mrproper; then make config, make
menuconfig or make xconfig as you want and then in the Sound menu, on the last
line you can activate [*] Low level driver and then AWE driver.

Compile your kernel and reboot. If you boot under DOS before going under Linux
you must activate the SB AWE32 with a command like ctpnp or something. If
you're using LILO then you'll have to compile your kernel with support for
ISApnp (in one of the first menus of kernel configuration) and then configuring
isapnp.
