(linux-br) TETEX - Como iniciar ?

Instalei o Tetex atrav�s do apt-get da conectiva. Quando tento inicializar 
atrav�s do  execut�vel tex, recebo:

[root@guster /root]# tex
This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.1)

� outro arquivo que devo executar ?
