Today, we are happy to announce that the "SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7
for IA-32" and the Linux Kernel 2.4 are certified by the LinuxLab for
customer use.

- "SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7 for IA-32" certified

Recently released by SuSE for deployment in professional
IT-environments, the "SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7 for IA-32" is now
certified for mySAP.com. For more information, please check

- Linux Kernel 2.4 certified

With the new 2.4 Linux kernel, customers are able to take advantage of
the new and improved memory management system in the SAP application
server, based on the Linux shared memory file system. This enables
customers to go beyond the limitations once imposed by the classical
UN*X memory management style, allowing more SAP users or background
processes per machine.

The integration and stress tests with the Linux 2.4 kernels supplied by
distributors are entering the final stage. After thorough testing, we
are pleased to announce the availability of the Linux kernel 2.4.7
supplied by SuSE for the use with SAP software. We are, however, still
testing RedHat supplied 2.4 Linux kernels, and will certify a RedHat
Linux 2.4 kernel soon.

If you would like to upgrade your system to use a new Linux 2.4 kernel,
please contact your Linux distributor.

If you would like to deploy SAP's new application server memory
management, please contact the LinuxLab via e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or
open a customer message for the component BC-OP-LNX. More
information on how to activate the new memory management are to
be found in SAP Note 386605 (the posted german version is beeing
translated right now).
