"17.1 [UPDATED] FTP File System

The ftpfs allows you to manipulate files on remote machines, to actually
use it, you may try to use the panel command FTP link (accessible from
the menubar) or you may directly change your current directory to it
using the cd command to a path name that looks like this:

/#ftp:[!][user@]machine[:port][remote-dir]

The, user, port and remote-dir elements are optional. If you specify the
user element, then the Midnight Commander will try to logon on the
mremote machine as that user, otherwise it will use your login name. The
optional pass element, if present is the password used for the
connection. This use is not recomented (nor keeping this in your
hotlist, unless you set the appropiate permissions there, and then, it
may not be entirely safe anyways).

Examples:

     /#ftp:ftp.nuclecu.unam.mx/linux/local
     /#ftp:tsx-11.mit.edu/pub/linux/packages
     /#ftp:!behind.firewall.edu/pub
     /#ftp:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:40/pub
     /#ftp:miguel:xxx@server/pub
