Yeah, gentoo has patched gcc specs so you get -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2
in gcc command line by default.

sys-fs/btrfs-progs/btrfs-progs-9999.ebuild:

This line overrides in-Makefiles AM_CFLAGS.
