Since Kernel 4.4. were quite a lot of stability changes. In practice, I try first booting a nearly current kernel with current btrfs-tools. Practical easiest way to do so is to download and dd an arch linux iso to a usb stick and booting from this stick. see: https://www.archlinux.org/ Afterwards I repeated the repair try.
