IPsec allows physically separate company networks to be securely connected through encrypted tunnels. In this, IPsec is fully compatible with the corresponding implementations of other compatible operating systems and routers. New firewall scripts and the kernel module, secumod, also ensure increased security. A logical volume manager is integrated for the first time. With the SuSE Proxy Suite, a free firewall tool, SuSE is presenting an FTP proxy it has developed itself. Innovations can also be revealed in the area of hardware support. The only just released XFree86TM 3.3.5 is brand-new. From now on, the newest generation graphics card chipsets, such as Savage3D, Savage4 and Trio 3D/2X will be supported with this.
