CDE is a collection of executables similar to the XDM model. Dtgreeting is
equivalent to XDM presenting a workstation logon screen with a couple of buttons
and menus. Dtlogin does authentication and initiates a session which is
established through a series of scripts and programs.

There are man pages, on-line help hyper-text help (useful for novice to
intermediate level users), and postscript reference manuals (/usr/dt/share/doc).

The other "biggies" to look at are dtsession and dtwm (window manager). Since
CDE is built on top of Motif it can be viewed as an elaborate application and
extension of mwm.

Hope this helps.
