I use pdcurses when I have to do windows applications.
It works great with the mingw32 port of gcc.

It will also (in theory) work with turbo C++.
You can pick up pdcurses at: ftp://ftp.itribe.net/pub/virtunix/
This site has binaries, source, pdtools, and assorted hacks.
You can also get a binary port of pdcurses at the mingw32 site.
I particularly like the unix commands that have been ported. (rm, ls,
grep)
Not a big fan of cygnus. I like the unix ports to be windows based and
not have the extra unix api layer to deal with. Though cygwin does have
a purpose, it's just not for me.
For those who don't know about the difference between mingw32 and
cygwin:
cygwin provides a unix envirtonment on win32 platforms. (bash shell and
everything!) Kinda bulky but useful for porting stubborn apps.
mingw32 has win32 ports. It is a younger port and borrorws from cygwin.
I like the way you can build programs here that depend solely on the
mscrt.dll stuff. It's a bit harder to deal with but I like the end
results.
There is a third port that seems popular called DJPP? Haven't had a
chance to review it.

A new supply of round tuits has arrived and are available from Carie.
Anyone who has been putting off work until they got a round tuit now
has no excuse for further procrastination.
