Those kinds of remarks are unproductive, useless, and may, more than anything else, reveal the inadequacies of the one who is making the statement. Why not be honest and simply state that you can't understand the documentation? Perhaps (just in case the author is reading this mailing list), now that you've made such a statement, you should also make as public an apology. >How do I execute > >sendfax -R -n -d 0800108208 sheet.ps The sendfax command wants a g3 file. If you would like to FAX a PostScript file, then you should either convert it to g3 yourself (via the digifax driver of ghostscript), or use the faxspool and faxrunqd commands. >at 9:13am tomorrow, at 9:13am tomorrow <<EOF sendfax -R -n -d 0800108208 sheet.ps EOF >or 9:13am on the 23rd Jan? at 9:13am jan 23 <<EOF sendfax -R -n -d 0800108208 sheet.ps EOF Perhaps your problem was that you didn't know how to supply in-line standard input to a command. Most shells accept a double left angle bracket "<<" followed by a token, and then send all subsequent input lines, until but not including, a line containing only that token, to the command being invoked as its standard input. Shell variable substitution is performed on these lines. -- Dave Mielke | 856 Grenon Avenue | I believe that the Bible is the Phone: 1-613-726-0014 | Ottawa, Ontario | Word of God.
