Hi,

I configured a DHCP server on a corporate server running
RedHat 5.2.. just the one that came with the package. It does
not seem to be working. I set up the dhcpd.conf file correctly,
to the best of my knowledge. And since I have 3 interfaces on
this box, and I only want the DHCP server to hand out IP addresses
on one of them. I ran the following command

dhcpd eth1

I tried a win95 client and it did not succeed in getting an address.
I checked the log file and discovered the following lines.

Jan 31 19:28:07 ns dhcpd: sendpkt: Network is unreachable
Jan 31 19:28:08 ns dhcpd: BOOTREQUEST from 00:50:53:f5:26:00 via eth1
Jan 31 19:28:08 ns dhcpd: No applicable record for BOOTP host
00:50:53:f5:26:00
via eth1
Jan 31 19:28:09 ns dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:00:00:00:00:00 via eth1
Jan 31 19:28:10 ns dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 203.102.162.227 to 00:00:00:00:00:00
via
eth1
Jan 31 19:28:10 ns dhcpd: sendpkt: Network is unreachable
Jan 31 19:28:12 ns dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:00:00:00:00:00 via eth1
Jan 31 19:28:13 ns dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 203.102.162.227 to 00:00:00:00:00:00
via
eth1
Jan 31 19:28:13 ns dhcpd: sendpkt: Network is unreachable

Can someone tell me what's going on... what does the line that says
"No applicable record... " mean?

Thanks heaps,
Lei
